Our values

Values are easy to write and harder to live with. These are the few we actually use to make decisions - about which work to take on, what to recommend, and when to tell someone they don't need us.

Explain, don't impress

Jargon usually hides uncertainty. We'd rather say something plainly and be understood than sound clever and leave you guessing what happens next.

In practice: Every recommendation comes with the reason behind it, in language you can repeat to your board.

Signpost honestly

We help organisations find long-term, workable answers - and sometimes the right answer is a specialist who isn't us. Saying so costs us a little and saves you a lot.

In practice: If something isn't worth doing yet, we'll tell you, and tell you what to do instead.

Progress over perfection

Nobody gets to a perfect environment. What matters is steady, meaningful movement on the things that carry real business risk.

In practice: Short, prioritised lists rather than hundred-page reports that never get actioned.

Practical security, never fear

Scaring people into decisions makes for bad decisions. Good security helps organisations operate with confidence, not anxiety.

In practice: We start with the handful of controls that reduce the most risk for the least disruption.

There's a person behind every ticket

Behind every support request is someone trying to get their job done. How they feel at the end of the call matters as much as whether the issue closed.

In practice: We measure how resolved things felt, not just how fast a ticket was closed.

Advice before delivery

Work should follow a clear reason, not a sales target. We'd rather spend an hour working out what's actually needed than a month delivering the wrong thing.

In practice: No recommendation is tied to a product we're trying to shift.

What that means for you

Four things you can hold us to from the first conversation onwards. If we ever fall short of one of them, tell us - we'd rather hear it.

  • We'll tell you honestly whether something is worth doing.
  • We'll explain the options in plain English, including the trade-offs.
  • We won't use fear, deadlines or jargon to push a decision.
  • We'll point you elsewhere when someone else is a better fit.

See whether we're a fit

A short conversation is usually enough to tell whether we're the right people to help, or whether someone else would serve you better.
