How much RAM and storage should we specify?

Can Surface devices be managed centrally?
Yes. Surface devices enrol into Microsoft Intune and support Windows Autopilot, so a new starter can unbox a device and have it configured without it passing through IT first.
What about repairs and warranty?
Business channel devices can be bought with extended cover and, on newer models, replaceable components. Consumer-channel Surfaces bought on a card are the ones that cause problems later.
